DOUG’S TAKE
———–
– Now THIS is an amazing Porsche! The 930 Porsche 911 Turbo is a very desirable classic, but the rare factory Slant Nose models are especially sought-after by enthusiasts. This 930 Slant Nose was created by Porsche’s Sonderwunsch (“Special Wishes”) department in Germany, and it’s finished in handsome Paint To Sample Grey Metallic. It also boasts a set of gorgeous 16-inch BBS wheels – and it benefits from having documentation showing some extensive recent servicing. Plus, this 930 Slant Nose comes with an accident-free Carfax report and a U.S title, for added peace of mind.
HIGHLIGHTS
———-
– THIS… is a 1984 Porsche 911 Turbo Special Wishes Slant Nose Coupe, finished in Paint to Sample Grey Metallic with a grey and beige interior.
– This is a left-hand drive, European-market car that has been federalized and that’s currently titled in Utah. It features a slant nose conversion that was performed at the Porsche factory by the Sonderwunsch (“Special Wishes”) department, according to a letter pictured in the gallery.
– The attached Carfax history report starts in 1993 and lists no accidents since, though it contains several gaps.
– A build sheet is provided in the photo gallery, and a partial list of notable equipment reported by the seller includes a steel slant nose conversion, a limited-slip differential, and air conditioning.
– Notable modifications reported by the seller include aftermarket parts in the exhaust system, 16-inch BBS RS wheels, leather-upholstered Recaro front seats, an Andial boost gauge, and a Blaupunkt cassette player.
– Invoices pictured in the gallery detail nearly $49,000 in repairs and maintenance performed on this 911 between October 2023 and June 2024.
– Released for 1976, and called 930 internally, the first 911 Turbo instantly became Porsche’s fastest and most expensive street-legal car. Always boosted with a single turbocharger, the 930 left the American market after 1979 but made a triumphant return for the 1986 model year with a more powerful engine. The Turbo has remained a core part of the 911 range ever since.
– Power comes from a 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-6, rated at about 300 horsepower and 304 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission.
